  as it’s nearly the new year my prediction over the next decade or so will see the sense of urgency dwindle.

  then some huge huge changes.

  for example by 2034 in a decades time, they will have address the 1914 issue and will come out and say we can’t be dogmatic.

  ive no wish to watch all that video.

  My thoughts are the watchtower thieves have really shot themselves in the foot grabbing the kingdom halls and flogging them for a quick buck

  I'm sure many senior jws--my age --will bitterly regret the loss. They would have saved hard and contributed a lot of time money and effort to buy build and maintain THEIR hall.

  The halls were a witness in themselves--and the loss doesnt go un noticed by the public---just adding to the impression ( along with no or very little door knocking ) that the watchtower has ceased trading.

  When was the last time a jw knocked your door ? Ive not seen any slowly traipsing the street where i live for ages--not like it used to be--every few weeks.

  Even the carts are no longer a new thing and go largely ignored.

  there is a lot of exjws who have been out 10-20-30-50 years, but for some reason, when they see a group of jehovah's witnesses, sitting by their carts, drinking coffee, scrolling through phones, laughing, something inside happens.

  most can't explain it.

  some say it makes their blood boil.

  ive been out for 50 + years.

  What amuses me about these leaflet rack attendants --is what the public thinks of them. Only this week a saw a couple in the usual place in my small town. The woman looked like a bag lady--but the bloke was something else. A shabby slob with a beer belly. Couldnt even do his tie up properly. I should have taken a photo of them but i had my hands full.

  i knew a lady who was disfellowshipped for 20 years for smoking.

  she finally went back to the kh and since they couldn't find her paperwork, (all the former elders were dead) she was allowed back in without reinstatement.

  no one even remembered her.

  Things Rutherford got wrong that Fred Franz had to clear up

  i was interested by the suggestion in a recent discussion that rutherford was in some way preferable to fred franz, because i’ve not come across this view before.

  it made me rethink my assumptions and try to work out why i hold the opposite view and prefer fred franz to rutherford.

  i haven’t done any additional research, so i’m only drawing on what i can remember off the top of my head, but i thought i’d list a few things where i reckon fred franz’s approach was preferable to rutherford.
